Originally from the North East, Julia Kennard studied piano as an Associated Board Scholar at the Royal College of Music with Bernard Roberts.  After graduating she moved south and started teaching and accompanying professionally with groups including The Lampard Ensemble, and solo singers including Ann Lampard (Glyndebourne), Emily Bauer-Jones (Glyndebourne), Giles White (St George’s Windsor), Anthea Kempston (Scottish Opera) and Anthony Cleverton (Glyndebourne).  Other instrumentalists she has worked with regularly include David Owen Norris (piano), Julian Shaw (viola) and clarinettist David Campbell.

Julia is much in demand as a teacher and has taught in many schools in the area including Seaford College, St Edmond’s, Chichester College, Wispers School and Churchers College.  Currently she teaches piano at Churchers Junior School, Midhurst Convent and Charterhouse and is the official accompanist for Opera South, The Reynolds Singers, Billingshurst Choral Society, The Sutton & Bignor Choir, and Fernhurst Choral Society.

Julia is married to bassoonist Robin, and lives in Liphook with three guinea pigs, three daughters and a son.
