Besides papers, magazines etc Chris and Val also provide a service to the village as the village grocers, with milk, fruit juice, sandwiches, a basic range of packaged goods, excellent fresh bread every day and a freezer cabinet with frozen meals.
Fernhurst Lunch Club:
This is a club for senior members (50 and over) of the village, held in the village hall on alternate Thursdays and combines a social and friendly atmosphere together with an inexpensive hot meal.
