An extra visit this April (Tuesday 17 April - £18) to see the TULIP FESTIVAL at Dunborough Park - Ripley near Guildford: Over the past ten years Baroness Caroline Sweerts de Landas has created tulip heaven at her home, Dunsborough Park, in Ripley, near Guildford. During April and May up to 40,000 tulips burst into bloom, creating the most striking sea of colour each year. Caroline brings bulbs over from the Netherlands, and plants them at the end of November. They are meticulously ordered in lines according to colour and variety. As this is a local visit it will be a car share - click here for the form and details.
Bookings now open for our Summer Trip to Sissinghurst on Wednesday 1 August: Sissinghurst is a National Trust garden and grounds. Historic, poetic, iconic; a refuge dedicated to beauty. Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson fell in love with Sissinghurst Castle and created a world renowned garden. Vita Sackville-West, the poet and writer, began transforming Sissinghurst Castle in the 1930s with her diplomat and author husband, Harold Nicolson. Harold's architectural planning of the garden rooms, and the colourful, abundant planting in the gardens by Vita, reflect the romance and intimacy of her poems and writings.  Click here for more detail and a booking form.
