Household Pets
This is a poem about a mouse
That lived in somebody elseís house,
Iím glad it wasnít in mine because
My cat would have it in her paws.

A dog just wouldnít have bothered
Because dogs arenít as smart as cats,
Some dogs, of course, are trained
To catch those wretched mice and rats.

It could have been worse,
It could have been a rhino,
But just imagine the mess
If it pooped upon the lino.

A camel would be rather grand
But difficult to understand,
Weíd have problems with its diction
Because it only speaks Egyptian.

Perhaps the best would be a horse,
But thereís not the slightest doubt of course
It wouldnít fit into the house,
I think Iíll stick with a little mouse.
