She did her best
She was only trying to do her best,
She really meant it well,
But I wish that she had left me alone
In the position in which I fell.

She said that she could do first aid,
It was so firmly spoken,
I asked her just to leave me alone,
I knew there was something broken.

“Just ring for an ambulance,” I said,
“But please leave me alone,
If you look at my leg below the knee,
You’ll see a shattered bone.”

As she moved round to take a look,
She tripped in the very same place,
And down she went with an awful crash,
Flat upon her face.

Now we’re in adjacent hospital beds,
Trying to get some rest,
I know she was only trying to help,
She was acting for the best.
