2017 May Queen Applicant’s 2017.  Any girl living in Fernhurst Parish, aged between 10 and 16, is eligible to be May Queen or one of her attendants, with a selection process taking place on Thursday 9 March. If you, or your daughter, would like to be considered for this, please contact Sandra Skelton on 01428 480278 or 07802464790 by the middle of February.
Let us hope the weather this year is as good as the last few years! In 2014 the Revels Committee made donations of £2800 to local village organisations and clubs. By 2016 this figure had risen to £4000. We would like to thank you all for helping us to do this and we will be calling on you again this year for donations to the Silent Auction and the Tombola. We are planning an event similar to last year, with a range of attractions to keep everyone entertained on the Village Green and Recreation Ground. We will have the traditional May Queen, with her procession and Coronation. We have again booked the George Regis Jazz band to play during the afternoon, the Petersfield Bowman and the Falconry demonstration, which have all been so popular over the last few years. There will be Children’s Races, a Dog Show and Classic Cars, as well as a Beer Tent, Hog Roast, Tombola, Silent Auction, Bric-a-Brac, Tea and Cakes Stalls. The festivities will get under way with the May Queen’s procession starting at Nappers Wood at 12-30 and leading on to the Village Green where the May Queen is crowned and the Revels are declared open
Fancy Dress Competition 2017: Open to all ages with, hopefully, some adult entries. The theme this year is “EDIBLES” So imagine any vegetable food stuffs, tinned goods, fruit and sweeties too. Should be great fun. Any queries please contact Penny Self, 01428 653396 or Elaine Ewing, 01428 480036 Looking forward to seeing you all!
