The Good Companions society welcomes anyone in Fernhurst of retirement age to their meetings, which take place twice a month on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. in the village hall. We offer members talks on interesting topics, music recitals, ploughman’s lunches, outings to the sea, cream teas, garden visits, creative interactive afternoons, special Christmas celebrations - and much else. Our members come from all walks of life and really appreciate the friendly atmosphere of our meetings, where they can see their friends, relax and enjoy new experiences. We are just coming up to our 70th anniversary, which we will celebrate in style in 2021 – so we know we have a winning formula for meetings which stimulate and give great enjoyment to our members!

We always look forward to welcoming new members, so if you would like to find out more about us please telephone 01428 653266 or 01428 653059 and we would be delighted to speak to you. Membership is at a very nominal cost, currently £6 per year, which covers all meetings not involving a meal or an outing. Meetings end with tea and biscuits on the house (though in 1951, when we first started up, it cost members 3d!)
We currently have a committee of eight members click here for details and contacts.
